Area Humanist Slams Religious Quoting

An area humanist today slammed religious people for not achieving independent thought but rather, allowing other people to do their thinking for them.

Writing in her weekly Atheism Now! column, Katherine Belle said "A philosopher once said 'religion is the thought for the thoughtless' and this is where we are today. Just as the French thinker Je Ne Pas Pas said 'use text when you can't think of something to think' and that's what they do. Mary Stiller famously said 'ask a Christian what they think and all they'll do is quote, quote and quote'. I hate the way these religious people just 'pull out a quote to prove they're right' (as Paul McBoon wrote in his influential book 'The Book For Readers').

"Whatever they think, it's always come from someone else. Ricardo Tindicko was right when he said 'they can't think, they can't reason; They can only quote and sing' and I agree. You'll never catch me quoting people in order to back up my opinions."
